Stephen Belafonte's restraining order stopping him from contacting Mel B has been extended.

It follows a court date yesterday that heard claims of serious emotional and physical abuse, which he denies.

An LA judge has granted Belafonte visitation rights to see their daughter twice a week under supervision, despite it being strongly opposed by the former Spice Girl.

Mel's lawyer claimed her estranged husband subjected her to beatings, was involved in adult pornography and had criminal links.

It was also alleged there was credible evidence he had a gun in his possession "which is against federal law."

It's also reported Belafonte had threatened to release sex tapes of Mel to 'destroy her career' and at one point tried to prevent her getting help after she swallowed a bottle of aspirin.

Belafonte's lawyer says he vehemently denies the allegations and that they're part of a smear campaign.

His attorney added that 'Mother Teresa does not marry Attila the Hun.'

In a statement, his legal team said "When the degree to which Ms Brown has gone to create a false depiction of her marriage to Mr Belafonte is uncovered, real victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse will be understandably offended, angry and upset."
