Results of preliminary post mortem indicate Jastine Valdez was killed 36-48 hours before her body was found in Rathmichael

The 24 year old was abducted just metres from her home near Enniskerry on Saturday.

The suspected kidnapper, Mark Hennessy, was shot by Gardai after he was confronted in Cherrywood Business Park on Sunday evening.

It's reported a blood-stained note was found in the black Nissan Qashqai at the centre of the abduction claims, and that the 40 year old Dublin dad-of-two had called a relative to say he wouldn't be coming back.

After examining the Qashqai's satnav, Gardai discovered the body of a woman in Rathmichael in south Co. Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Her remains had been tangled in thick gorse about 50 metres off Puck's Castle Lane.

Detectives are continuing to appeal to the public for information about the kidnapping.

They want to know where the SUV was spotted and if anyone noticed suspicious activity around Pucks Castle Lane and Murphy's Lane, or if anyone using the Carrickgollogan Forest Recreation Area or the Lead Mines in Kiltiernan have information.

"Anyone who was from Saturday 19/5/18 at 6pm to Sunday  20/5/18 at 8pm who may have seen anything suspicious and in particular Black Nissan Qashqai  171 D 20419. Garda at Bray are also seeking assistance from hillwalkers or cyclists or anyone who may have driven through these locations and may be in possession of a dashcam that was operating during this timeframe to  contact Bray Garda Station 01-6665300 the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."

It's understood Mark Hennessy's DNA will be cross checked against the DNA database to establish if he's linked to any unsolved crimes.
