A man who was gunned down outside a creche in Donaghmede last Friday has died.
32 year old Declan Smith was shot in the head by a lone gunman outside the Little Rainbows creche on Holywell Avenue just after 9am.
The victim was known to gardai and had links to dissident republicans.
He was taken to Beaumont hospital where he died from his injuries overnight.
A post mortem examination by the State Pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy is expected to take place later today.
The Garda investigation into the incident is ongoing.
