A man has been rescued from the River Liffey at O'Connell bridge.
It happened yesterday evening during rush hour in the city.
The incident was brought to the attention of Dublin Fire Brigade at around 4pm.

A member of the public spotted the man in the water just under O'Connell bridge.
Whether he slipped or whether he was looking over the bridge and subsequently fell into the water is not yet known.
Two water tankers, a special appliance, a turntable ladder, and a District Officer, along with an ambulance, all responded to the call.
A boat had to be used during the rescue operation as the man was underneatrh the bridge in the water.
He was removed to the Mater Hospital where his condition remains unknown.
