A man in his thirties has been taken to St James Hospital, following a stabbing on Grafton Street this morning.
Gardaí arrived on the scene of the incident and arrested a man, also in his thirties.
He is being detained in a City Centre Garda Station, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He can be held there for up to six hours.
The victim of the attack remains in hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
