Man Dies Following Tallaght Attack

A 20 year old man who was assaulted in Tallaght in Dublin in the early hours of New Year's Day has died in hospital.

Two people have been charged in connection with the attack, while three others are in Garda custody.

The 20 year old man was attacked at a pedestrian bridge at St Dominics Road in Tallaght.

He was rushed to the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he was on life support.

Two people appeared in court earlier in connection with the incident.

23 year old Graham Palmer of Bolbrook Grove, and 20 year old Aisling Burke of Homelawn Road, both in Tallaght have been charged with violent disorder.

This afternoon, two men, aged 27 and 23 were arrested in connection with the assault and are being detained at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda stations.

A man arrested late last night still remains in Garda custody.
