A man has died at the SSE Airtricity Dublin half-marathon.
Organisers have confirmed that a 23 year old man from Dublin collapsed 300 or 400 metres away from the finish line at this morning's half-marathon.
A number of doctors - who were participants in the race themselves - stopped to provide the man with assistance.
He was transferred to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Organisers have commended the St John's Ambulance medical team and all those who looked after the young man and expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
