Gardai are investigating a fatal house fire in Stoneybatter.
A man died and a woman was seriously injured in the blaze yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the house fire on Sigurd Road just after 7pm.
A 53 year old man was taken from the property and rushed to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An elderly woman who suffered serious injuries in the blaze is being treated at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
The scene has been preserved and a technical examination is due to be carried out this morning.
