Gardai are investigating the death of a woman in Cork.
The 60 year old woman was stabbed to death at a house in Montenotte this morning.
Gardai were called at around 8am.
Neighbours have described a chaotic scene, in the aftermath of the stabbing, inside a semi detatched house on Murmount Avenue.
A man in his 60s has been taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A man in his 20s has been arrested, and is being questioned at Mayfield Garda Station.
A full forensic examination of the house is due to take place later.
