On Friday, September 1st the Revenue officers seized approximately 60kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.2 million in Dublin.
A man in his 20s was arrested by Gardaí and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996 in a Garda Station in County Dublin.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation involving Revenue's Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Coolock and Ballymun District Drugs Units.
The search was part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime operating in the Dublin area.
Investigations are ongoing.
