A man’s been arrested following a stand-off with armed Gardaí in south Dublin this afternoon.
The Emergency Response Unit was called to assist Gardaí who are understood to have been serving an arrest warrant on a man for suspected burglary at around 3 o'clock.
Neighbours say the man had barricaded himself into the house - and threatened to shoot Gardaí.
Several residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Cashel road has now reopened, and the man’s been arrested.
