Gardaí in Dublin have charged a man and a woman after an officer was hit by a stolen car last night.
It happened while he was trying to force the vehicle to stop in Balbriggan at around 11pm.
The guard who was hit has been seriously hurt, while another two officers received minor injuries.
Two Garda vehicles were also damaged during the incident.
The pair who are in their 20s were arrested close to Balbriggan town and will face charges of burglary and car theft at Dublin District Court tomorrow morning.
