Man Airlifted to Hospital From Dublin's North Coast

An elderly man's been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty swimming on the Northside.

A member of the public alerted the Coastguard when they spotted him off the North Beach in Rush just after 9.30am.

The Dublin and Skerries Coastguard and RNLI were all involved in the operation.

He managed to make it to shore where he was then airlifted to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

He is being treated for hypothermia but is understood to be in a stable condition.
