Twenty seven thousand secondary teachers will take part in a lunchtime demonstration outside schools across the country in protest at Junior Cycle reform.
In Dublin the protest is taking place at Holy Child Community School in Sallynoggin.
The protest is being organised by members of the ASTI and TUI who aim to highlight their increasing opposition to the proposals.
The General Secretary of the ASTI says that students are entitled to an independent evaluation of their work.
It comes as the Minister for Education, Jan O’Sullivan, indicated last week a willingness to further water down proposals to form an agreement with the unions.
