The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre says nearly one in five callers to its hotline are men.

It's been reacting to offensive jokes made online following last night's horrific rape scene in Love Hate.

The series finale of Love Hate featuared many shocking plot lines - inlcuding the savage rape of one of the show's male characters.

Following its broadcast, some commentary online made light of the scene with memes and offensive jokes, provoking a furious back-lash.

The support group is urging anyone who was affected by last night's scenes to get in touch with its national helpline.
