Saturdays in July account for the most accidents in public places which result in personal injury claims.
The Injuries Board made over 2,100 public liability awards last year, worth €53 million.
That's up from €44 million in 2013.
Women accounted for seven in ten claims - and slips, trips and falls were the most common accidents.
