KeyWest are urging their fans and music lovers all over Dublin to tell the City Council what they think of new busking bye laws. They were introduced last April but a review was carried out after six months, and changes are being put to the public. Friday is the closing date for people to give their opinion.
The amendments include needing a special permit for Grafton Street, restricting busking at the GPO and only dance troupes of three people or less will be able to entertain outside the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre entrance. Face painters, caricature artists, hair braiders, jewellery makers, and people selling paintings or photos will also need a permit, as well as magicians or anyone who asks pedestrians to take part in an activity.

Amps won't be banned but buskers will have to pay extra for a permit if they want to use them. Only dance acts and circus performers will be allowed to use backing tracks.
KeyWest argue that's an end to busking "as we know it" and the lads are urging people to object to the new restrictions.
