Police in Scotland have thanked the Irish public for their kind words following the investigation into the tragic death of Irish nursing student Karen Buckley in Glasgow last month.
Over the past couple of weeks, Police Scotland has received a high number of letters and emails from members of the public in both Ireland and Scotland, expressing their appreciation for the work carried out on the Karen Buckley investigation.
The Senior Investigating Officer has written an open letter to thank the public for their support.
Jim Kerr's letter reads "Throughout our investigation in to the death of Karen Buckley in Glasgow in April 2015 we received and continue to receive messages of appreciation from people in Ireland."
"I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for taking the time to contact us and for their thanks and continued support. It is very much appreciated by myself and the dedicated team of officers who are involved in the investigation."
A 21-year-old Glasgow man has been charged with Karen's murder, and is currently in custody.
