The jury in the trial of a Tallaght woman accused of helping her friend to die by suicide is due to begin its deliberations today.

Gail O’Rorke from Kilclare Gardens, Tallaght denies trying to arrange for MS sufferer Bernadette Forde to travel to a euthanasia centre.

On Friday, the prosecution urged the jurors to ignore what they would do if they found themselves in a situation whereby a dying friend asked them to assist in their suicide and focus only the facts and evidence before them.

Gail O’Rorke is accused of assisting in the suicide of MS sufferer Bernadette Forde by arranging travel plans for her to get to DIGNITAS, a euthanasia centre in Switzerland.

Ms. Forde died from a toxic substance in June 2011, two months after Gardai foiled the planned trip to Zurich.

Two further charges against the Tallaght taxi driver were dropped and the jury is due to consider a verdict on the only remaining charge later today.

A suspect who it's alleged made his escape from a Crumlin robbery on a Dublin Bus, is due in court today, more here.
