There's been a massive jump in the numbers logging on to the Women's Aid website since a domestic violence video went viral.

Emma Murphy's video has been viewed nearly 7.5 million times since she posted it on Facebook earlier this week.

It's had a knock on effect for support services for women who've been abused.

Women's Aid have seen a 240 percent jump in the number of people logging onto their website.

Linda Smith is the National Helpline manager, she says "if we're providing emotional support, women will disclose the incidents that they've experienced".

The video has gotten people talking about domestic violence and Linda says it's starting serious conversations about the "issue of abuse" and that it's also risen the "awareness around the amount of domestic support available".

Emma's former partner has spoken out since the video went viral, he's denied punching her.
