There's almost 4.8 million people living in Ireland according to the first set of results of Census 2016.
The stats show a population increase of 3.8% since April 2011 to 4,761,865.
Over 1.3 million people are living in Co. Dublin made up of 658,371 males and 688,988 females.
The Fingal area saw the biggest population surge - 8% more people are living in the area now than in 2011.
The average age of people in the country is 37.4 years, in Dublin its 36.8.
The census found that 61,299 people were divorced/separated in Dublin, a rate of 4.5%, compared to the national rate of 4.7%. The number of divorced people in Ireland has increased to 103,895 18% since 2011.
Those who registered as having no religion is now 468,400, that's up from 269,800 in 2011 or an increase of 73.6%. More than 1 in 10 Dublin say they have no religion.
The number of Catholics fell to 3,729,100 and made up 78.3% of the population in 2016, compared to 84.2% in 2011.
The number of households renting on census night amounted to 497,111, up 22,323 on the 2011 figure.
2 million households filled out the Census form on the evening of Sunday the 24th of April 2016.
