An Irish man has drowned off the coast of Portugal.
The 69 year old died at Peneco Beach, one of two Albufeira’s two beaches yesterday.
The Irish Independent says he was pulled out of the water by a lifeboat just before 4 in the afternoon and was worked on by paramedics.
He was declared dead on the quayside and a postmortem is taking place today to determine if the drowning was due to a health problem.
