A mother of 3 wants to adopt Ireland's biggest rat.

The South American beaver rat - named Rodney - was found in a county Tipperary river earlier this week, thousands of miles from his natural habitat.

The Sun newspaper reports that animal lover Emma Mulqueen from County Clare fell in love with Rodney after reading his story.

The badger-sized rodent is currently being cared for by the Kildare Animal Foundation, who are looking for a suitable home for him, and say he's not frightened of humans.
