An investigation is underway following an explosion on the north side overnight.
At around twenty to twelve last night the Army Bomb Squad were deployed to a housing estate in Clonsaugh.
They were responding to what is believed to be the explosion of a pipe bomb in the front garden of a house.
They carried out a number of procedures at the scene before it was declared safe at ten to one this morning.
There are no reports of any injuries however there was some superficial damage to the front the house.
Gardai are now investigating the matter.
