The family of Ibrahim Halawa are boarding a flight to Brussels this morning to plead with MEPs for their help.
Ibrahim has been held in an Egyptian jail since his arrest at a protest in Cairo in 2013.
The Dublin teenager's ninth scheduled court appearance was called off earlier this month when two of the defendants failed to appear at the mass trial.
Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan is joining the Halawa family in Brussels.
