Ibrahim Halawa Goes On Hunger Strike In Cairo Jail

Ibrahim Halawa has gone on hunger strike in Egypt.

The Firhouse teen has spent more than two years in jail after being arrrested during political protests in Cairo in August 2013.

In a letter to the public he says "I write with a ticking clock closer to my death.  For the past two years and three months, I have been imprisoned unjustly. I'm waiting in a queue for my turn on the death rope." 

He says that he has embarked on hunger strike and tells of the horrific living condition within the prison.

Since his arrest Ibrahim's mass trial has been postponed nine times.  

He is due in court again on December 15th.
