Muggings have doubled in Ballyfermot over the past year.
98FM News has learned there's been a 100 per cent increase in the amount of robberies in the area between 2014 and 2015.
Chair of Dublin City Council's Joint Policing Committte, Daithi de Roiste, has been blaming this increase on a lack of Gardai patrolling the streets.
He says robbery is an opportunistic crime, "We have no presence of Gardai in our communities anymore. We need Gardai on the streets, high visibility policing is what will stop these crimes."
