The HSE has confirmed that an investigation has been launched after complaints about an intellectual disability unit in Longford.
A statement says they've notified the appropriate statutory authorities, and contact has been made with families of people who use the unit.
The statement also said protective measures are in place to protect residents, and that they won't be commenting any further.
