Hotel Refused Permisison For Windowless Rooms

A city centre hotel has been refused permission to convert its basement into bedrooms.

The Grafton Capital is totally refurbishing its building on Stephen's Street lower, which formerly housed Break For The Border.

Developers had sought approval for using the basement to add extra bedrooms, but they wouldn't have had any windows and therefore, no natural light.

But the local authority has turned them down saying it would constitute substandard accommodation for tourists and set an undesriable precedent
