Failure to address the housing crisis is trapping addicts in a cycle of drug abuse and homelessness.

Merchants Quay Ireland - who'll unveil its annual report in front of the President today - is warning that recovery is almost impossible without somewhere to live.

Michael D Higgins will see first hand the work of the charity that claims demand for its services has gone up by over a quarter in the last year.
