Boarded up flats in O'Devaney Gardens could be reopened to address the city's housing shortage.

According to the Irish Times, Dublin City Council is considering re-tenanting some or all of the remaining 128 flats.

The complex has been used as a set for Love/Hate.

If the plan goes ahead the units would be retrofitted to bring them up to scratch.

Plans to regenerate the area were shelved because of a lack of funds.
