A row over the relocation of a halting site could delay the construction of the new runway at Dublin Airport.
Locals in Coolquay say the proposed new site isn't suitable because it's a flood plain.
Development of the halting site is for members of the travelling community who have been living in Collinstown, which has been leased for thirty years by the DAA.
But the authority needs it back so it can build the airport's new runway, which has led to Fingal County Council's plans for the caravan park at Coolquay.
Residents of the townland of around 100 people say the area won't be able to handle the sudden 50% increase in population.
They also say the area is prone to flooding and the field where the halting site is planned takes the run off of nearby streams.
Local businessman Joe Finnegan says the area is already under pressure.
"We have bad planning on the old N2. The local school has no space either; the kids have to go to St Margaret's for their sports day."
Fingal County Council says it carried out a comprehensive flood risk assessment but locals don't feel reassured.
However 98FM understands it has revised downwards the number of caravan bays originally planned for the site after questions about the land's suitability were raised.
