Green Party Launching Campaign For Yes Vote

The Green Party is launching its campaign for a YES vote in the Marriage Referendum later.

The party says it's supporting the amendment to the Constitution to give equal recognition to the relationships of gay and lesbian citizens in Ireland.

The question of same-sex marriage will be put to the electorate on the 22nd of May.

Cllr. Roderick O'Gorman explains why the Green Party is calling for a YES vote:

 

Meanwhile, the Labour Party is launching a social media campaign today to promote a YES vote.

The initiative uses the hashtag 'make it happen', and encourages people to speak to their family and friends about voting YES. Tánaiste Joan Burton will also be speaking to people over the age of 70 in Dublin today, to encourage elderly people to vote YES.
