A great grandmother is due to be sentenced today for storing cannabis and drug money at her home in north Dublin.

Julie Nugent of the Maples, Clonshaugh Woods admits committing the crimes but claims she was "preyed upon by others".

She told Gardai that "foolishness, stupidity and thinking I would get a few bob at the end of it" made her agree to keep the cash and drugs.

During a search at her home just over a week before Christmas 2012, Gardai found 50 thousand euro worth of cannabis and over 90 thousand euro in cash.

The drugs money was found in her wardrobe along with seven ledgers containing drug tick lists, while the drugs were found in her hot press.

She said she'd been told she'd be "looked after" if she kept them for six weeks and she expected to get a few hundred euro for her troubles.

After she was caught, she told Gardai that she felt physically ill for being so stupid.

The 63-year-old is due to be sentenced this morning.
