The Government is reportedly considering a two tier charge system for water.

When the 100 euro support payment is taken into account, a single adult household should be paying around 80 euro a year.

The Sunday Times reports that other homes will pay about 210 a year, again once the hundred euro is factored in.

The capped bills are likely to extend into 2017 for households registered with Irish Water.
