Gay men are being warned of an outbreak of a rare type of chlamydia in recent months.
According to The Sunday Times, the HSE has put together a task team to deal with the sexually transmitted infection, which is believed to be the first of its kind in Ireland.
There's been 35 notified cases of the STI since last May.
All cases so far are from men who are sexually active with other men, and most of these are also HIV-positive.
Thirty-three cases have been identified in Dublin, with the remaining two cases recorded in adjoining counties.
