Bid to Block Garth Gigs in High Court

Legal action to block the three Garth Brooks gigs from going ahead will be heard in the High Court on Thursday.

These are the shows that have been granted permission by Dublin City Council from

The case against Croke Park and Aiken Promotions is being made by local resident Brian Duff.

His barrister Frank Callanan described him in court as a scaffolder who has lived in the area at North Cumberland Street all his life.

His concerns are that he will have restricted access to his home while the shows are going on and that there will be anti-social behaviour with concertgoers vomiting and urinating on the streets.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan has set aside time on Thursday morning to hear the injunction application.

 

Meanwhile, Promoter Peter Aiken is on his way to the States to try to convince Garth Brooks to play 3 concerts here.

Its after Dublin City Council confirmed last night that only the 3 licenced gigs could go ahead.

Its now up to Garth to decide if he's going ahead with the shows, having said it was 5, or none at all.

Mediator Kieran Mulvey is hoping the country singer changes his mind..

Dublin Lord Mayor Christy Burke says whatever the outcome, the licensing and planning process has to change..
