Gardaí at Finglas are investigating an attack on an officer responding to a car on fire in Cabra.
The alarm was raised on New Campbell Bridge on the Ratoath Road at 5.30 this morning. On arrival, a detective was attacked by a man who assaulted him with a bottle. The garda was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he received a number of stitches to his leg.
A man in his 30’s has been arrested and is being held at Finglas Garda Station. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours before he must be either charged or released.
