The Gardaí and Garda Ombudsman are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of yesterday's crash on the main Limerick to Dublin road to come forward.
The incident occurred after Gardaí intercepted a car on the N7 Naas Road while investigating reports of a robbery in Athy.
The car stopped briefly before speeding off and colliding with another vehicle at the Johnstown junction.
A 16 year boy old has appeared in court charged in connection with the incident.
Another teenager remains in Garda custody while a third youth has been released without charge.
A fourth teenager remains in hospital.
