A set of flats in the North Inner City are being evacuated over fire safety concerns.
It’s after the High Court granted an order saying they weren’t fit to be lived in.
Dublin City council took the owners of the flats on 3 Kelly’s Row off Dorset Street to the High Court saying they failed to engage with fire safety officers and have improvement works done on the building.
They told the court that there’s a serious health and safety risk and that it shouldn’t be used as accommodation with immediate effect.
Joseph Simpson, who is one of the owners, said they had been trying to move the tenants out for some time to carry out the work but they weren’t leaving.
During the court case, Mr Simpson was told the residents there have been given an offer of alternative accommodation from Dublin City council.
Mr. Simpson consented to the order in court which was granted by the President of the High Court, Mr. Justice Nicolas Kearns who said the building to appeared to be in poor condition.
