First Carrickmines Funeral To Take Place Today

The first funerals for victims of the Carrickmines fire will take place in Co. Wicklow today with five hearses bringing Bray to a standstill at midday.

Large crowds are expected to pay their final respects to the Lynch family at their funeral mass.

Twenty five year old Willie Lynch, his partner Tara Gilbert, who was 27, their two girls, Jodie aged 9 and 4 year old Kelsey and Willie’s brother Jimmy who was 39, died in a blaze at a halting site on October 10th.

Tara was four months pregnant at the time.

The funerals of Thomas and Sylvia Connors and their children Jim, Christy and Mary will take place in Ballally on Thursday.
