First 1916 Commemoration Held At Dublin Castle

The first event to commemorate 1916 has been held in Dublin Castle this afternoon.

The Defence Forces read a roll of honour for the volunteers who lost their lives in the Easter Rising 100 years ago.

The Irish Citizens Army Flag, the Irish Republican flag and the National flag were all raised at Dublin Castle.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys says the celebrations this year will be significant:
