Around 200 firefighters have marched on the Dail concerned about cuts to crew levels.
The Department of the Environment wants to reduce the number of people who attend certain fires as part of the Keeping Communities Safe Plan.
However, SIPTU says those cuts will put the lives of firefighters and the public at risk.
Gerry Harris is from Dublin Fire Brigade, he says if they cut the numbers that attend a scene, it will make it harder to tackle a blaze.
