Fire At London Zoo Claims The Life Of An Aardvark

More than 70 firefighters tackled a blaze at the London Zoo early this morning. 

It started in the Animal Adventure section and spread to the nearby shop. 

Misha, one of the aardvark's at the zoo has died as a result of the fire and four meerkats are unaccounted for.

The London Fire Brigade and the blaze under control but the cause of the fire is not yet known and investigations continue.

Eight people have been treated for shock and smoke inhalation following the blaze which broke out at 6am.
