A Finglas man has been jailed for life after murdering his uncle following a 'straightener' on the Ballycoolin Road, just before Christmas 2013.
David Cully of Kilsane Road admitted shooting Edward O’Connor in the back, but claimed he was provoked by something he said.
A jury rejected his defence earlier this month and the 24-year-old was handed the mandatory life sentence today.
The victim’s wife told the court that she’ll be forever consumed by the "horror, fear and sadness" felt after her husband’s "brutal murder".
