Fines on the way for rude bus drivers and dirty vehicles

Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann will be fined if drivers are rude and vehicles are dirty.

Its part of new rules being introduced by the National Transport Authority.

According to the Irish independent new contracts signed on monday between the NTA and Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann allow for up to 5% of payments to be withheld if customers service standards drop.

Buses have to be kept clean and drivers must remain polite.

They also have to respond to comments and complaints on twitter with an hour and within a day if they recieve an email.

fines will be imposed if the first and last service leaves earlier or later than scheduled.

While on street real time passenger information must be displayed 98% of the time.
