Bono will close this year's Web Summit in Dublin.

The U2 frontman will discuss the fallout from the band’s deal with iTunes which saw their latest album distributed to millions around the world for free.

Organisers of the conference claim that despite WiFi issues, this Summit has been the best yet and are already working on plans for next year.

U2’s deal with Apple which saw their latest album ‘pushed’ to millions of iTunes users was shrouded in controversy.

The controversy saw the tech giants forced to set up a website helping users to remove it from their phones.

Bono is likely to shed some light on the backlash when he closes this year’s Web Summit in a panel discussion on the challenges of music and movies in the digital era.

The conference’s organisers say they’re confident this year’s event has been a success despite internet issues which attracted headlines around the world.

They say they’re already looking towards 2015 which will see the Web Summit’s first international expansion take place in Las Vegas next May.
