The race for the Aras is heating up with Sinn Féin confirming that MEP Liadh Ní Ríada is to contest next month's presidential election.
She has said at the party's Ard Comhairle that it's an honour and a priviledge to go forward for the election on October 26th.

She is the fifth candidate to be confirmed, and it looks like being an uphill battle.
The latest opinion poll out today indicates that President Michael D Higgins is heading for a landslide re-election.
It puts him as the clear front runner on 67% while Seán Gallagher is in second on 15%.
Deputy Ní Riada was chosen by 7% of respondents, while Senator Joan Freeman comes fifth in the poll with 3% support.
