A father and son are being sentenced this afternoon for carrying out a spate of burglaries in Dublin between June 2011 and April 2013.
The pair would break into homes after people left for work in the morning.
Marcin Jakubiec and his son Boguslaw, who both have an address in Wexford Town, stole a range of valuable items during their 22 month crime spree in places like Sandyford, Booterstown and Shankill.
These included jewellery, electronic equipment, phones, expensive racing bikes and even a €12,000 sculpture.
They were eventually caught after being spotted on CCTV leaving an apartment complex in Dun Laoghaire with a black bag full of stolen items.
Following his arrest, Marcin told Gardai it was like he was living two different lives. “I take stuff, go sell the stuff and then go back to my family,” he said.
He told them he did it for the money but also the buzz and felt very guilty about it.
The court heard his father took part in the thefts to try and find enough cash just to live.
Both men were brought to court in custody and are due to be sentenced shortly.
