Surplus local property tax payments from Dublin homeowners will be taken up by homeless services.
It's expected to cost almost 60 million euro to deal with the housing crisis next year.
The budget to run the city will be just under 750 million euro in 2015.
Included in that is 53 million euro in property tax collected from Dublin homeowners.
Excess funding from the property tax will reach only 4.2 million euro which is expected to be spent on the homeless instead of other services.
The council says it will cost almost 60 million euro to address the housing crisis, 7 million euro more than its spending this year.
